From our head office in Walvis Bay, Namibia, we connect mining houses, fishing fleets, vessel operators, contractors and port agents with the supplies they need to keep moving. We source, we import, we hold stock, and we deliver across the region. We are not a manufacturer, a chandler or a leisure store. Our job is to make industrial and marine procurement simpler, faster and more reliable.
Walvis Bay, since 1998
Marine Ropes was founded in 1998 to serve the Walvis Bay fishing fleet. Over the past 25+ years the company has grown into a broader procurement platform, expanding from ropes into the full industrial and marine catalogue that modern operations now require. Today the business is owned by Antje Klynsmith and continues to operate as Marine Ropes cc from its original home in Walvis Bay, with co-shareholder Andre Klynsmith running the digital side of the business.
A single supplier, a wide catalogue
Our online catalogue holds over 7,500 active products across 42 top-level categories. Ropes remain at the heart of what we do, but the range now spans rigging and lifting equipment, chains and cables, industrial webbing, tarpaulins, safety gear, workshop and welding supplies, fasteners, fishing gear, plastics and lubricants. For procurement teams running large projects, we work directly to source, quote and ship to site.
Across Southern Africa
Goods move out of Walvis Bay along the three core SADC trade corridors. We ship to Angola, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa via road, sea and rail, with port-side collection available for customers operating near Walvis Bay.
